This project was a straight like for like replacement of an old, tired deck which had seen better days. The Joists and supports had rotted completely and the deck was moving when walking on it.
This was a very low level decking frame with almost no air circulation so we recommended Composite Framing and Posts. Composite Decking frames are 100% rot free. Although Composite framing does increase the cost of the project, it requires no maintenance and will last in excess of 20 years.
The client selected Trex Transcend Composite Decking boards. This is a Premium solid decking board which will not warp, splinter, fade, or crack over time.
