Oilcanfinish are bespoke summerhouse builders. Our structures designed to your specification, using your choice of materials, and are far stronger than off the shelf sheds from DIY stores and Garden Centres. The key to the buildings strength is the framing materials used for the base, walls, and roof structure which need to be wide enough to allow insulation to be installed, electrical wiring to be hidden, and still provide vacant air cavities to prevent moisture damage between the outer cladding and interior finished wall. Timber framed houses and buildings are very popular in Canada, where we are from, and are subject to extreme weather conditions. Most over the counter, pre-packaged sheds have very thin support structures and framing supports preventing the owner from enhancing the shed with internal finished plasterboard walls, double-glazed windows, fully sealed roofs, and UPVC Doors.
To prepare the area we can pour concrete pads for sheds if needed, or suspend the frame above ground, to ensure your shed floor is protected from rot, wood boring insects, and moisture damage.
All Garden Sheds and Summerhouses can be Sealed, Stained, or Painted to enhance the sheds longevity and protect your investment.
Our bespoke sheds are built to last using strong, sturdy pressure treated framing which is wide enough to add both insulation, wiring, lighting, and finished interior surfaces as well as flooring as well as being strong enough to support wall mounted objects such as bike storage or televisions.
There are numerous options to clad your Summerhouse in style. Cladding options vary in appearance, maintenance, and longevity. A few our favorites are:
Canadian Western Red Cedar Cladding
Iro Timber Cladding
Shiplap Cladding
Composite Cladding
Soffits and Fascia are the finishing touches which not only provide a superior, polished look to your Summerhouse, but also increase it’s ability to withstand british weather conditions.
We recommend UPVC Soffits and Fascia, however in certain situations, where a particularly attractive species of wood is used in the cladding, it is best to match the Soffits with the Cladding.
