This premium decking project in Wimbledon SW19 was one of our favorites from this past year.After careful consideration of all options, including visiting our Showdeck at Champion Timber Chessington, the clients opted for Trex Signature Whidby.
The Trex Signature range is an ultra premium decking board. The capping has been designed using Photo Realistic imprinting making the boards look almost identical to the timber they are replicating, which is IPE. They come in 2 colours, one to replicate IPE when it is new, freshly oiled, and the other to replicate IPE when it has been sun bleached by UV light, or silvered.
Trex Signature decking has a clear coat on the exterior of the capping which gives it the most scratch resistant finish of any decking board in the UK. It was designed for commercial decking installations where design and durability are the primary factors, such as for hotel or restaurant decking installations.
For this project, the old deck had an planter bed attached to it. After discussion with the clients they decided a separate planter, on wheels, was what they wanted to we added that feature to the project. We also had one Tree projecting out through the decking.The overall layout was similar to their previous deck, however for the larger section we added a double picture frame layout.
