This commercial composite decking installation in Claygate was for a Private School. The total size was approximately 100 Square Metres.
It previously was a fairly unlevel patio with paving slabs. The steps were functional but unattractive. The brief was a 4mt deep deck all the way across the rear of the property, approximately 20mt incorporating wrapping the Decking around a planter bed, around a curved wall in the building, wide stepped areas to join the side pathway going around the building, and meeting the Tree House play area already in position.
Tree Surgeons removed some mature trees during our work which resulted in a good sized area adjacent to the new Decking and Tree House which could become a usable space, however at a fairly steep slope.
The result is a 4mt x 4mt extension to the original Decking was added onto the project.
Decking: The clients selected Trex Transcend Decking. Partially for it resilience to scratching and staining, the low maintenance properties of Trex, because it looks superb, and because of the colour ranges on offer.
Trex anti-slip properties are also a crucial feature for commercial Decking installations.
The main body of the Decking is Trex Gravel Path and the Picture Frame border is Trex Island Mist.
The colour changes had to be crystal clear to visually highlight the elevation changes but subtle enough to still look attractive.
