The wider plank size offered by Millboard gives the boards a more plank-like appearance. Millboard can be installed with smaller gaps required between decking boards. The finish of Millboard decking is an authentic, non-reflective matt finish which gives a stronger wood appearance.
Millboard Decking is not a wood-plastic, or WPC, decking board. It has different properties which make it more likely to keep its positioning and shape with less contraction and expansion than WPC decking. This gives the installers confidence in strong mitre joints in the corners which won’t contract over time.
The decking and frame was to be inset, with the decking level with the ground. This creates a frame environment which has high humidity and low air circulation. The best solution for this environment is a non-wood frame for complete rot resistance. The clients selected Millboard Plaspro Composite Decking Joists and Posts.
The final touch was the installation of a Louvered Aluminium Pergola to give the area some shade as needed throughout the day, with the option of making it waterproof.
In the end we have a very straightforward 3mt x 3mt beautiful decking area which requires almost no maintenance beyond sweeping up.
