For Terrace, or Rooftop Decking, we often are making an unusable space one of the main features of the property. Our job is to ensure the space is ideal for entertaining, relaxing, or an additional safe play area for children. Safe splinter-free flooring that is friendly to bare feet, combined with endless views is the goal.

Terrace Rooftop Decks

Terrace decks generally refers to decks which are built on the rooftops of buildings.

Most rooftop decks are what we call Floating Decks, in that they are built using a series of risers as supports to spread the weight of the deck across the entire roof surface. These have to be built without interrupting or blocking the drainage of the building below, or cutting into the roof surface.

Terrace decking almost always requires Balustrades or Railings to comply with Building Regulations.

Balcony Decks

Balcony Decks, or Walk Out Decks, are separate to the main building and would have their own structural supports. This may be either beams coming out of the building, or a series of posts and beams set onto concrete foundations or footings.

Oilcanfinish can advise and install from the ground up. Working backwards from how you want your finished deck to look like, we will design the foundation and footings and beam structure, to ensure your new balcony is supported for years to come.
