Our decking service includes Consultation, Design, Supply and Build

We ask a fair number of questions before we schedule a consultation at your home. This is to get a feel for the scope of the project and to ensure we understand the basics like access, waste removal, your expectations, what you want us to bring in terms of samples.

During our consultations we will take measurements and do a site survey, inspect for drainage and underground obstacles. We will bring samples for you to review to narrow down your colour scheme. If you are looking at deck lighting, we can bring samples of those as well.

We will discuss the different framing options available, and the pros and cons of each option. We will advise you on the benefits and comparison points between different decking brands, where they ake their decking boards, what are the made of. Most importantly we can advise you what you can expect your decking to look like after 5, 10 and 20 years with each brand and manufacturer.

Quality Composite Decking

Not all composite decking is the same.

There are over 30 different decking board brands in the UK. Having reviewed almost all of them, we found a trend, and that was for extremely low quality products. These are sold by companies who have not been in business very long, and who do not do their manufacturing in countries with robust child-slavery protections. They also had high density plastic in their decking, which we know will crack and splinter over time. We know this as we have removed enough of them. Often these deck boards have hollow sections in the middle of them. This is not something we can recommend.

After narrowing down our list to a small number of composite decking manufacturers we were happy with based on the quality of their decking boards, clean and measurable manufacturing processes with quality ingredients that wont cause the boards to crack and splinter and employment policies which are similar with those of the United Kingdom, we then took a closer look at the product ranges, support, and their warranties and after-care service.
